SERVING THE SACRAMENTO & CENTRAL VALLEY SINCE 1968

ABOUT US:

Agricultural Advisors Inc. was founded by George Post, a University of California Farm Advisor and Robert Hanke, owner of Hanke Farm Chemicals in 1968. They combined their knowledge to start one of the first independent crop consulting firms in California. Currently the company is lead by George's son John, a University of California at Davis graduate (B.S., M.S.). Since then, this firm has grown to consult weekly with growers on over 75,000 acres of deep rooted tree crops within the Sacramento and Central valley. The mission of this company is to produce the highest quality crops in the most economic fashion for the farmer. To do so we focus on plant health, pest and disease management, plant nutrition, irrigation management, soil chemistry and canopy manipulation (pruning).

Although orchard consulting is the foundation of Agricultural Advisors Inc., we also conduct a variety of feasibility studies and contract research. At the request of venture capital companies, lending agencies, prospective investors/growers and others, Agricultural Advisors conducts on-site studies to determine the feasibility of potential orchard development. These studies include in-depth evaluations of soil texture and chemistry, water chemistry and availability analysis and, if needed, evaluating the climatic conditions at the potential site. From this information, we can determine the appropriate crop and rootstock, the spacing of that crop, necessary soil manipulation, appropriate irrigation system etc.

About Us

Our research department conducts numerous agricultural research projects with many of the major agricultural chemical producers each year. These trials include large scale commercial efficacy trials, as well as small scale replicated screening trials. Through our consulting services, as well as our own on and off-site research farms, we have access to a great variety of crops and specific growing situations throughout Northern and Central California. This allows us to conduct our studies on a variety of pests, diseases, weeds and different nutritional situations while maintaining excellent control over trial integrity at all locations.
